A welded 1½" square-steel-tube trestle frame with a solid butcher-block top bolted down through welded cleats. The plan gives you every dimension, the steel cut list, and two routes for the top — buy a slab and cut it, or edge-glue your own.

About 6–10 hours for the full set, plus finish cure time. It's intermediate — you'll need a welder for the steel frame, plus a saw, drill, and sander for the butcher-block top.

At 15¼" tall, with 7½" benches, it's sized for toddlers and preschoolers — roughly ages 2 to 6. Because the plan gives every height and dimension, you can also scale it up for an older child.

Yes — the frame is welded 1½" square steel tube, so you'll need a welder (MIG is easiest) and basic welding skill. The butcher-block top only needs a saw, drill, and sander. If you don't weld, the steel cut list is simple enough to hand to a local welder or a maker space.

A dense hardwood — hard maple, birch, or beech — either a store-bought 1½" butcher-block slab cut to size, or edge-glued from your own strips. The plan walks through both routes and a food-safe hardwax-oil finish so it's safe to eat off.
